Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 in 1961) is an American actress. Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor. Bassett, who was raised in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born in New York New York, is an acclaimed actor. As Bassett was around five, she and her sister moved to St. Petersburg, Florida to stay with their mother who had separated from their father. While in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. The Yale School of Drama granted an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Basssett in the year. She attended the following schools: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School.
